marketkin.com is a financial markets information portal. When this policy refers to "we", "us", or "our", it means marketkin.com and its operators. Our contact email is [email protected].

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address, name (optional), and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Usage data: We collect standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used for security and analytics.

Cookies: We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (such as your market region). See Section 5 for details on advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the service — including personalising market data to your region, saving simulator sessions (for registered users), and sending account-related emails.

For security — detecting fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.

For analytics — understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use aggregated, anonymised data only for this purpose.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].

Server logs are retained for a maximum of 90 days.

News and market data older than 90 days may be purged from our database as part of routine maintenance.

5. Cookies and Advertising

We use first-party cookies for session management and user preferences (e.g. market region selection). These are strictly necessary and cannot be opted out of while using the site.

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to marketkin.com and/or other sites on the internet. You may also opt out via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

6. Third-Party Services

Market data: We retrieve price data from Yahoo Finance, Alpha Vantage, AkShare, and J-Quants. These services may log requests made from our servers but do not receive your personal data.

Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare as our DNS and CDN provider. Cloudflare may collect IP addresses and request metadata as part of its network security and performance services. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.

Stripe (future): When payment processing is enabled, payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store card details on our servers.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the subject line 'Privacy Request'.

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are in India, this policy is consistent with the requirements of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2008 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

8. Children's Privacy

marketkin.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
